My sister is having a baby! I’m gonna be Auntie Z! I am an aunt already and will never forget how emotional I was when I saw the 1st picture of my little niece! Being an aunt is so special, and it allows you to play many roles to the child! Nurturer, confidant, ally…like a grandparent but without the stereotype of being “old”. 😉 Now with my only sister having a baby, it feels a little different because I know her so well. It almost feels like I’m having another baby. Does anyone else feel like that with their sisters?
This past weekend we had her baby shower. And she got too many great gifts to count or acknowledge here! I’m just listing some of the ones here that either I really, REALLY used OR I would have loved to have. I know that as first time mom, my registry, much like my sister’s was a little bare because I wasn’t sure exactly what I really needed. There’s so much information nowadays about what to put on your registry. And not to be a downer, but you don’t need that much.
You need somewhere for the baby to sleep comfortably, somewhere you can change the baby’s diaper comfortably, a diaper bag that doesn’t make you feel like your life is over, an easy, light way to transport baby, something to take care of your boobs, somewhere to heat up formula or milk and a place to set the baby when you just can’t carry them anymore. And that’s it! But that’s no fun, so here are same favorite items!
Some of the items that are not listed in scroller are:
My sister is wearing a maxi dress by BCBG and I’m wearing a skirt by @Zara holiday collection, Vici Collection sweater and Jessica Simpson suede boots
My sister Marisol with baby Billie/Billy (a long standing joke that she would name her baby Billy if she ever had one so that she wouldn’t waste much time naming them) 🙂 It’s a joke! But we all call the baby that!
The views reflected in this post are mine and not how my sister feels about any of her gifts. 🙂
