I have had a little preview into Spring thanks to a family trip to Florida! Everyone back home in Chicago is dealing with snow and honestly feel a little silly talking about Spring outfits when everyone’s had to pull their winter jackets back out. BUT! Spring is coming and in another month we can hopefully put our jackets away for good.
My New Year’s resolution was to wear more hats. Soulful, I know. I always love how they look on other people but never have the attention span as I’m leaving the house to stick one on. Having a lot of sun is a good reminder to grab one and I love the one I found at Target from Universal Threads. It’s casual and covering enough for the beach, but not so huge that I can’t wear it in the city.
To further portray a Springy beach look, check out these frayed black jeans! I have lived in them since I got them, they have a button your fly fit and I think these fall in the “girlfriend jeans” category. Not so BIG that they look like PJ’s like boyfriend jeans but relaxed and curve hugging at the same time. The black denim is more of a dark charcoal vs a true black furthering the casual feel.
I found the top at a random Target run while on vacation and had to have it. It’s a linen look and feel with cute little rolled up ruffle sleeves that isn’t trying to hard. The blue was perfect for the season feel and I wrapped up the outfit with the lace-up wedges that I’ve been wearing on repeat, a statement neutral belt and an old tote that I’ve had for a few years. It’s always got diapers, trains and old goldfish crackers in it! Are you doing some Spring cleaning? XO, Z
