Workout Clothes Revamp: what helps me get moving!

CONFESSION: I love working out in big sweatpants and a hoodie. If I could I probably would teach my classes like that as well but I feel pressure as a fitness instructor and fitness business owner to look the part! The part usually entails cute leggings and a tank or sports bra. If you struggle to find those cute workout clothes hopefully this helps!

As the saying goes, if you’re wearing cute workout clothes, you’ll workout harder. 🙂 Well, if you’re wearing comfortable clothes, you’re more likely to move more throughout the day and bust into a song and dance or at least walk more. I’ve linked some of the clothes that I love to wear either to the studio, to drop the kids off, or as I work from home. I’ve found that a workout is more likely to happen if I’m wearing the right thing aka active wear all day long!

3 Things that help me get moving when I don’t want to!

  1. Put on your workout outfit and tell yourself you only need to do it for 10 minutes. 10 minutes will pass and you will be over the hump and your body will beg you to keep going at least for another 20 minutes!
  2. I can’t stress this enough….you have to LOVE the music you workout to. That’s why MaZi Dance Fitness is so great for me and our clients. We spend so much time curating the playlists and developing moves to the music, it feels meant to be and the time flies by. If you have never been able to stick to a workout, google your local dance fitness studios!
  3. Schedule it! If you put it in your calendar, you are so much more likely to execute. You wouldn’t miss a meeting with a co-worker, friend, a doctor’s appointment or a mani/pedi would you? Same thing here. I am scheduled to teach classes throughout the week and I have to show up to them. It’s my job and I admit I’m lucky that it’s not a decision for me, I have to show up. Make it a non-decision for you as well.
