My beauty routine before I had kids was a part-time job! Now with two kiddos and two businesses, I just don’t have the luxury anymore. However, beauty routines, much like a workout, are time investments you will never regret. I rely on my beauty secrets for women on the go. Having an efficient & effective beauty routine will be worth it; an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure! That mantra stays with me on the days I don’t want to put on a serum, or wash my face when I’m exhausted.
Beauty Secrets for Women On the Go
Good Skin Prep
In the morning is when I’m the most pressed for time since I have to get the kids out the door also. Therefore, it’s not the time to try new looks. My main focus is protecting my skin against the sun, hydrating and light coverage. That’s why I love my Beautycounter Dew Skin with 30 SPF! Another thing that will cut down on your foundation/coverage time is having some color. I love this self-tanner here and here, you can see my whole self-tanning routine here.
Eye Strategy
A lot of women swear by eyelash extensions! This is a really easy way to cut down on your prep time. I personally prefer putting on fake eyelashes most days, since it only takes me a few seconds. Watch my tutorial here! With practice, you too can apply fake eyelashes in under a minute. Other than that, I take a couple of minutes filling in my eyebrows to frame my face (and since I don’t have any), and use eyeliner to finish off the look! An alternate look in a hurry, is no eyelashes (eyebrows are non-negotiable) and just apply a fair dusting of medium brown eyes shadow. It adds color, is flattering on almost every skin-tone, and always sophisticated. If all fails, sunglasses will rescue!
A Strong Lip
I think the absolute best “emergency pull” you can implement is a strong lip color or high-gloss. You may just have time for a quick CC cream and no eyes whatsoever but a statement mouth will help you look put together FAST. If I managed to get my eyes in place, I like a glossy lip with this by BeautyBio and this BeautyCounter cool pink. If didn’t, I double down on lips and go for this red, OR this pink.
Single Use Nail Polish Remover Wipes
You never know when you’re going to have a nail break or chip. So these single use nail wipes are always in my bag just in case. When you’re on the go and don’t have time to get a manicure, these nail wipes can save the day. I use them to quickly remove nail polish if I have a chip.
Facial Massage
This is a fast and easy way to help with face swelling in the morning! I spend a couple of minutes in the shower going over these key areas and I have noticed a huge difference in my puffy eyes. I recently saw an interview with supermodel Doutzen Kroes and she mentioned she does this every morning. If it’s good enough for her, I’ll take it!
Quick Hair Fixes
My favorite hair look on a bad hair day is a good ole mom bun! You can create a top bun and accessorize with your favorite scrunchy or clip! I always carry a couple of extra on the go. If you are missing volume, this texturizing spray from Oribe is AWESOME.
The Organizer
An organizer will save you tons of time in the morning because you can see where everything is! Also, when you travel you can save time because everything is already packed and ready to go. There’s several sizes of this ROWNYEON organizer that make-up pros, bloggers and models swear by! I just need the small and have tons of make-up!
Products I Love On the Go

Daytime is a good time to protect your face and have fun with color.
- BeautyBio’s Zen Bubble– It helps shield my skin from the day, calms irritation/redness and moisturizes without being too heavy.
- Beautycounter’s Dew Skin– this hydrating tinted moisturizer is AMAZING when it comes to getting light coverage, 30 SPF and hydration in one simple step! I use 1 in Winter, 2 in Summer.
- Eyes- Beautycounter’s Brow Gel & Liquid Eyeliner, fake eyelashes.
- Lips-BeautyBio’s The Pout or Beautycounter’s red lipsticks here.
- Wipes- post workout, on a hot day or if you smudge your make-up, make sure you carry these!
Nighttime:
Night time is when a lot of the restorative magic happens. Whatever happens during the day, do NOT miss the nighttime routine.
- Beautycounter’s cleansing balm- gently takes everything off in one swoop and cleanses, better price here for similar product.
- Goop’s GoopGlow Peel Pads- takes about 15 seconds to run over your face and wake up with smoother & brighter face! I like 15% vs 5%! These are also individually wrapped, great for travel!
- Beautybio’s The Nightly– works hard overnight to restore while you sleep.
- Beautycounter’s Countertime Eye Cream– start early in life, trust me!
- Beautybio’s Glo-Pro– takes me 30 seconds to run over my face so that everything I put on my face afterwards is adequately absorbed. I’m in love with this tool! I’ve been using for 2 months, and my skin looks younger, smoother, and acne is under control! I linked the one I have which also has the Lip tip for smoothing and plumping lips, great bundle!
