My memories of Easter growing bring me back to getting a brand new outfit for the occasion! We would get the hat, gloves, purse, ruffle socks, ruffle panties, dress and shoes. My Easter dress was very important to me. It was always done well in advance and my sister and I would try on our dresses and play with our purses before the actual day. On this hopeful day, we were always dressed to the nines and never lasted all that long. We’d head to church in our get-up, usually get in trouble for trying to eat candy, head to brunch and then quickly disintegrate from there. We’d get tired, full of chocolate and our pristine outfits slowly became a distant memory.
Not a lot changes now that I have kids, I am able to hold up just long enough for the Instagram pic and so are they. 🙂 It’s such a beautiful hopeful day, nothing much matters but the nostalgia of dressing up will always be there.
