I’m so thrilled to share this workout that we, MaZi Dance Fitness did with PopSugar Fitness! It’s from our Ballerina Fight Club class and it’s absolutely my favorite multi-tasking workout following a HIIT (hi intensity interval training) format.
My at-home workout is 30 minutes long and even if you can only do the first half, it will have you dripping in sweat! Ballerina Fight Club is a format we developed at MaZi Dance Fitness and evolved over the years to be the best-rounded workout you can do. It leaves you feeling powerful and empowered! It has easy to follow cardio boxing combos and is peppered with plenty of ballet-based strength exercises that push your limits. I love a HIIT (hi intensity interval training) because by increasing intensity in intervals your body is forced to work harder and reap the benefits! As the saying goes, “If you want to look fit, then be fit”!
What I personally love about a HIIT workout that combines cardio & strength:
- The most health bang for your buck! Who isn’t busy right? As a mom wearing lots of hats, I need my workout to be fast, fun (otherwise I won’t do it) and effective! I love working my muscles and getting my heart rate up at the same time.
- This particular combo of strength and cardio, increases your flexibility dramatically because we’re able to incorporate dynamic stretching with range of motion during the strength and stretch sections.
- It releases HGH (human growth hormone) an ultimate anti-ager (see article below).
- It makes me feel ALIVE! I love how I feel after. Nothing beats the feeling of pushing your body to new limits every time you workout! By the way, this feeling leads to elevated metabolism throughout the next 24 hours.
- It’s great for BOTH losing fat AND increasing your fitness level (reduces blood pressure, heart rate & sugar levels).
