At this point it’s safe to say, we all know about the Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale! 🙂 This post is intended for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for latecomers; the novice, non-cardholder, non-icon(what the top tier cardholder is called). Or maybe you’re a cardholder but finally emotionally ready to face that Fall is around the corner. Again. Along with most other bloggers, I’ve had the Nordstrom SKU’s for a long time and selected my picks last week. So why the delay in coverage? Early access is still going on from 7/12-tomorrow 7/18. The sale is finally open to all on Friday, 7/19!
There’s something about seeing the same leopard cardi (I’ll show you in a bit) about 27 times on your feed that makes you feel like you don’t need to cover it. Coupled with this, so many retailers have very similar leopard cardi’s that make me lose the sense of urgency to get it at a 25% discount. I know there’s quality variations and certain brands that will hold up better than others. However, given the homogenous nature of many trends and designs I decided to focus on other sales first; Club Monaco, Shopbop & Michael Kors last week!
So why shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for latecomers?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale focus on Pre-Fall and Fall, and the other sales are just clearing out summer items. If there are items that you know you are lacking for Fall, this is a great time to get them at a reduces price before the start of the season! The thing is, in Chicago summer started about 4 weeks ago so I’m not “over” summer and I also didn’t buy a lot of summer items full price so now I’m finally ready for summer! Ha!
And now that the dust has settled, I’m finally ready to head back into Nordstrom. I’m an avid Nordy girl, I’m in there about once a week and nordstrom.com about twice a week, so the Nordy love is not lost on me. So we are! I just checked that these items are still in stock for those of us have played it cool! 😉

5 tips to Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for Latecomers
1. Make a budget and stick to it no matter what! Create a list focusing on items and categories you don’t have for Fall or didn’t get around to last year.
2. Wishlist items in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app now and check out as soon as the sale goes live. Be sure to follow me to shop my picks there too!
3. Order multiple sizes if you’re not sure! You can avoid sell outs and return what doesn’t fit.
4. Check out quickly – don’t leaves stuff in your cart for later. It will be gone!
5. Shoes & clothes sell out quicker than other categories like jewelry, men and kids.
During this sale, the most important thing for me is to keep in mind that just because I see an item on my feed a dozen times doesn’t mean I like it. It’s a total balance. That’s why I had to take a step back and really sit with these items I selected last week. And you should too, the only issue is that they will sell out. I tend to be bullish on ordering what I really want that are high sell-out risk and return things that don’t fit or that I got on a whim! Nordstrom has an amazing return policy, so take a few risks. 🙂
Pick what you like, what looks good on you, invest in pieces you don’t have.
