We live for our family time and adventures, especially since both Nick and I work crazy hours. Our family adventures are our time to be present, and combine learning and fun with our boys. We are at a really fun stage where we can take Matteo & Henrick almost anywhere and the 4 of us are usually up for anything! These are our family adventures with Koolaburra!
Having our comfortable, stylish Koolaburra boots to propel our adventure makes everything just a bit easier. 🙂 If you’re a mom, you know how hard it can be to get shoes on your kids, get around yourself and also LOVE what you’re wearing. Nick and I love history so anytime we have a chance to incorporate history into an outing we take it. With Thanksgiving around the corner, the boys have been bringing home log cabin artwork. We thought it would be so much fun to take them to the Francis Stupey log cabin in Highland Park, IL.
The Log Cabin
The cabin and surrounding area were really fun for the boys to explore! They were fascinated by the wooden exterior structure and could see how the shelter was literally made by trees. I think that was absolutely mind-blowing to them. You can get in to see the interior by appointment! We could still see what was in there through the window and I think Henrick nearly broke in. Gotta watch that one! At school they’ve learned that early settlers (though not the first ones) lived in these types of houses and I could see them trying to imagine themselves living there. That’s what’s so fun about being a parent; you are constantly reminded about wonder, imagination and learning!
Just outside the cabin where tree stumps. We explained trees were cut down, much like those and were used for the cabin. They of course wanted to chop down a tree themselves, naturally. Thankfully, they were too distracted by exploring the outside of the cabin to dwell on that for too long. Our Koolaburra boots were so warm and cozy and provided just the right traction for all this exploring!

I’m not gonna lie, I had a hard time picking out these boots! We wanted them ALL! It was comforting to know that no matter which ones I chose the Koolaburra boots would be chic and functional! I love their classic silhouette, so I knew that for me I wanted what I call a fuzzy boot! For Nick, I wanted to get him a multi-purpose black shoe that would be versatile for his on the go lifestyle. The kids were a bit easier to choose for. Here are my picks:

What’s next for our Family Adventures with Koolaburra
The truth is even a trip to the grocery store, book store or visiting family is an adventure! I hold on to these opportunities because I know that soon I will have to fight for their attention and I will blink and they will be taller than me! However, for now we are super excited to go and get our Christmas tree in our Koolaburra boots. It’s always an unpredictable adventure to pick it out and decorate it. Matteo helpfully suggested that his cousins would LOVE boots like his too for Christmas! Great idea, he’s my little fashionista.
