If your kids or you are like my kids; they are picky eaters! I always say it’s karma from my picky eating days. I’m no longer a picky eater because I’m just happy when I get to eat! LOL I’m always looking for a quick healthy meal for them because they are not easy to feed! One of them loves carbs and that’s it. The other one loves meat and that’s it.

Some of the ways I use these products are to grill or pan-fry them and add a veggie and rice or noodle dish. My kids’ favorite meal is spaghetti and a good old fashioned meatball is too much for them some days. Slicing up some Sweet Italian sausage from Great American Turkey Company is my trick into getting them to eat more high quality protein. Here is our family recipe!
Lennox Brothers Sauce & Spaghetti: quick and healthy meal
My part Italian boys love their spaghetti & sausage as a change of pace from meatballs!
Recipe: One package of the Great American Turkey Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage. One lb of Spaghetti
Sauce: Crushed red pepper, 1/4 cup of Olive oil, 5 cloves of garlic minced, two 8 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes, 1 can of tomato paste salt/pepper to taste
Directions: In a large pot, saute the crushed red pepper, olive oil, and garlic for 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and let simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomato paste to thicken. Lower heat, stir every 10 minutes while cooking the rest. For sausage, cook as directed, dice in small chunks, and set aside. For pasta, cook as directed. Add sausage to red sauce and serve over spaghetti sauce.
