I’m fairly certain it was a jaded mom that came up with the tiny bag trend. Guess what boys? Can’t cram your trains, boats and automobiles in my handbag! Sorry. 🙂 I love a big bag because typically I’m lugging around a ton of toys, a change of clothes for someone and snacks. Also, I’m usually going back and forth between work with studio clothes and sneakers. This past weekend I tried the tiny bag trend at NYFW and was happy/happy! The bag felt like a wallet extension with just enough room for a lipstick, wallet and phone (in certain angles).
The bag I wore, from Topshop was on the larger side of tiny. There are some bags where you can literally fit a lipstick and maybe a couple of coins.Fortunately I’m not that impractical yet. Here are some picks that I’ve seen in person and a couple of picks I have including this gorgeous green one. I selected them based on patterns and price (not gonna invest in this trend).
The Tiny Bags 2019
What about all the huge bags of yesteryear?
Looking back to the past couple of years, bags have been SO HUGE! I’m thinking to the Givenchy Antigona, Celine Phantom, Louis Vuitton Neverfull obsession and Chanel/Givenchy totes. As usual, the fashion pendulum is set to swing the other way. In the meantime, I’m holding on to my huge bags that I really love. I’m a mom after all and can’t make the permanent move to the tiny bag trend!
