If you saw my last post, you know that I’m not about to spend the rest of Winter in cords, jeans and sweatpants, although I wear them a ton! Here are my secret weapons for pulling off a dress even in the 20 degree weather! (after that I draw the line) Here are some dress layering ideas that will help you make it through.
Living in Chicago and other cold places their hits a point where you start to feel antsy. I’ve been so cold for so long wrapped in so many layers and I will decide there are only so many days that I can go without wearing a dress. Some things that help me brave it out in a dress are:
BOOTS
If these are long enough, they can act as pants! Also, even if they are not long enough, good quality boots will keep your toes warm!
TIGHTS
There are a lot of great nude or lighter colored tights if you don’t want to wear black tights. However, just think back to Blair Waldorf and all her patterned tights. So many options!
LAYERS
Moto jackets, cardigans and scarves. They will all make it possible and the more the merrier to complete your street style lux look!
BIG TOPPER COAT
This is the finishing touch and they are purposely oversized this season to allow for layers underneath and a kind of Olsen Twin throwback.
HATS
Have fun with it! Remember if your head is warm, you are warm! I always struggle remembering to put on a hat, but when I do I’m always so happy I did!
